Welcome!

The goal of Pack 969 is to provide a fun and educational environment where boys can make friends, develop their character, participate in community service, accomplish personal goals, and have fun in the great outdoors!  There is a reason for everything boys do in Cub Scouting. Apart from the fun and excitement, the aim of Cub Scouting is to help boys grow into good citizens who are strong in character and personally fit. This is why we say that Cub Scouting is fun with a purpose.

Pack 969 serves the Hamilton and Waterford Communities and our Charter Organization (sponsor) is the Hamilton Volunteer Fire Department. The pack is divided into smaller groups called dens. Each den should have up to eight boys and all Cub Scouts in a den are about the same age. Dens are organized into several levels – Tiger Cubs (1st grade), Wolves (2nd grade), Bears (3rd grade), Webelos I (4th grade), and Webelos II (5th grade).  It is our pack’s goal to have each scout complete their cub scout career by earning the Arrow of Light – the highest award in scouting – and crossing over to Boy Scouts in the spring of their 5th grade year and onto the path towards their Eagle Scout.

Pack meetings are held on the last Wednesday of each month unless otherwise specified (for instance during November and December).  Den meeting dates/times are up to the specific den but are typically twice a month.  We also try and plan at least one additional (sometimes several) extra activity during the month.  These may include a community service activity such as Scouting for Food, a sporting event such as a Frederick Keys baseball game, a banquet such as our Blue and Gold dinner, a competition such as our Pinewood Derby, an outdoor activity such as a campout, or many others.  The experiences of Cub Scouts, and later Boy Scouts, will definitely leave a lasting, positive impression on your son and also fill him with many great childhood memories and adventures!

We are always looking for new cub scouts and for volunteers to get involved and have fun in cub scouts.  We try and plan as many “family” activities as possible to involve the entire family in the fun!
